Hi readers!
Today in my bible reading I came across these verses. I feel like they’re especially relevent for the chaos today
“I heard, and I trembled within; my lips quivered at the sound. Rottenness entered my bones; I trembled where I stood. Now I must quietly wait for the day of distress to come against the people invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there is no fruit on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though the flocks disappear from the pen and there are no herds in the stalls, yet I will celebrate in the Lord; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation! The Lord my Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like those of a deer and enables me to walk on mountain heights! For the choir director: on stringed instruments.”
Habakkuk 3:16-19 CSB
For context: Habakkuk had just heard that Babylon would invade and ransack Judah, but that God would punish the wicked. Even though the world is chaotic, it’s refreshing to see how the prophet celebrates in the lord and rejoices in him!
I hope we can put our hope in God, have him as our strength and celebrate in him! For he really is worth celebrating! There are so many things we can celebrate him for, but it’s midnight here, so I should go to bed.
Praise be to the righteous, just and unchanging God who will (and has) punished the wicked and purge the world of evil, but also shows extravagant mercy to the ugliest of us! Let’s go celebrate him, regardless of the affairs in this world!
Amen!! Pray for America please we need it right now
