Far away through the mist my milky eyes see
the rock of my life, my steady foundation
it’s bigger that I remember, more imposing, looming large
through the milk my eyes see
I remember the days I got to know him
I remember the texture, shape, crevices
I remember being held by the dips in darkness
I remember knowing him better
Greater than I, neverchanging
holding the earth, the heavens, the time
but in his magnificence, patiently seeking
for the lost and weary
