Purpose of blog

I’ll try to write posts on God and Christianity, but I’ll also write about different topics, most commonly recently it’s just been poems.

But this blog does have a theme! If you’re a Christian, Jesus has paid the price for all your sins and you’ve repented and belived, accepting his gift of a relationship with the holy and awesome God and a citizenship of heaven! Isn’t that great?!

The world won’t accept that, though. The Jesus of the bible is the most controversial person alive. A lot of people like an idea of Jesus, but it usually bears little semblance to who he actually is. And Jesus said “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first” (John 15:18) – this hate extends to those who walk in Jesus’ footsteps. This can be scary at times, but there is this wonderful God who has lived a human life (including suffering), has promised to always be with us (Matt. 28:20) and has given us a very precious gift: his word (I’ll do a post on the bible sometime I hope).

So, if you think about everything our Lord has done for us (Seriously! Take some time to ponder on how abominable our sin is, how extremely holy god is,…), and if you think about how great god is, why will you want to live the way of the world? As my friend Hannah said, we are to be “in this world, but not of this world”. It’s definitely much easier said than done, but God has sent his Spirit, his awesome helping Spirit, to us and it is a massive privilege to please god!

So, it’s in my hopes and prayers that God will use this blog to help build you up in your life with the articles. I’ll also be writing on a few other topics, though.
